Surprisingly, Dendi took the Chaos Knight (CK) and XBOCT took the Tinker. Na'Vi jumped out to a fast start with an interesting 5v5 team in the Quantic jungle. LighTofHeaveN eventually downed Invoker after 30 seconds of a long level one team fight. Na'Vi continued their aggression with the mid lane of CK and Ancient Apparition (AA) using the Chaos Bolt + Reality Rift + Cold Feet combo to punish Korok and Quantic. Puppey rotated in a few times to help mid keep the hurt on the middle lane Morphling and supports.

Meanwhile, Tinker on the top lane and Leshrac on the bottom lane received plenty of farm. Tinker had a very quick Boots of Travel while Leshrac picked up an early Bloodstone--helped by Dark Seer struggling mightily in the bottom lane. Despite Na'Vi's strong mid-lane PAINT's awesome Leshrac play kept Quantic in the game leading to a 7-5 kill score favoring Na'Vi at 10 minutes.

This game featured moments of intense team fighting spelled by rather passive play. Leshrac's dominance allowed Quantic to largely hold its own while Morphling slowly rebounded from a poor start. At 16 minutes Na'Vi took down the mid-tower and repulsed Quantic's counter attack winning the fight 3-1. At 24 minutes Na'Vi grouped and turned it's attention to the bottom tower but lost the fight 4-2 while Morphling solo killed Tinker top lane. At this point, Korok's farm was back in line and Quantic had built itself a small advantage. Rather than push this advantage, Quantic preferred to rely more on its late game Morphling farm while the rest of the team roamed in three to four man ganking squads.

At 28 minutes, Na'Vi try to gank Morphling in the Quantic jungle. They got the kill but expend so much time and abilities doing so that the rest of Quantic was able to join the fight leading to a 4 vs. 5 showdown. There was absolute carnage with PAINT and Venomancer ult'ing to great effect at close corners. Brax, who played a strong Invoker, was the only survivor (XBOCT got himself killed in a rather stupid way at the end of the fight).

Further gank attempts at 32, 39, and 47 minutes turned into larger team fights. These were largely equal but due to Morphling and Quantic's slowly increasing gold and experience advantage, these draws favored Quantic. Korok went Ring of Aqui to Manta Style to Ethereal Blade at 49 minutes and became a force. The game slowed way down with Quantic roaming the map until they found an advantage and then slowly using that advantage to chip away at Na'Vi's towers. Na'Vi did take the first two Roshans but squandered both Aegises.

The deciding moment came at the 59 minute mark. Dendi was farming mid-lane way out of position with no support. Quantic ganked him, took the third Roshan and pushed down the top tower and barracks, forcing the good game. The caster Epi brought up a good point right after Dendi was ganked. Epi, quoted Bucking Mad, about a similar situation. Bucking Mad noted that Na'Vi sometimes has someone aggressively farming out of position but also sometimes has someone aggressively farming while his support lays in wait using the farmer as bait. This reminds me of one of those mixed strategies from Game Theory. If you always farm aggressively with no support, then you will be ganked. If you always farm aggressively with support, you will not be ganked but your supports will get no farm and you will not trap anyone. The optimal--from a farm point of view--strategy lies somewhere in between.

As you can see from the draft, Na'Vi did not pick a late game or even mid-game carry potential hero. This indicated Na'Vi was hoping for some early game aggression, but it was actually Quantic who played the more aggressive game. The early game was relatively quiet--first blood did not happen until six minutes. Na'Vi destroyed the first tower at four minutes when Puppey rotated out of the jungle to push the bottom lane, but Quantic responded in short order by pushing the tier 1 and tier 2 towers top lane with Enchantress and Leshrac joining Templar Assassin (TA).

Things quickly fell apart for Na'Vi. Enchantress sniped the courier while destroying the tier 2 tower. The Quantic supports and bottom lane rotated mid to help draw first blood on the ES and then subsequently take out Pugna, Rubick, and a jungle gank on Puppey. Leshrac solo destroyed the mid tower and Quantic rotated into the jungle for an 8 minute Rosh. After 9 minutes the score was 5-1 favoring Quantic. Then things really got out of hand.

Templar Assassin had an insanely quick Blink Dagger and took advantage of Blink, Meld, and Refraction to wreak havoc on Na'Vi. Na'Vi had a failed aggression attempt top lane and were picked off one by one as they tried to retreat, resulting in an 11-1 score. By 13 minutes TA was 7-0-0 and melting Na'Vi heroes in 2 or 3 hits. All of Na'Vi's outer towers were gone by 15 minutes. A 16 minute Desolator. Korok was 20-0-7 before finally being brought down for the first time.

TA was too stronk. Quantic continued its undefeated streak in the Defense by stomping Na'Vi in game 2 in under 30 minutes.
